The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation at Zdzież is visited by very many worshippers. The parish church of Our Lady of Consolation was built between 1635 and 1655. The church complex is located in Borek, at Zdzież, about 0.7 kilometres east of the town centre, at the end of Zdzieska Street. This location helps you place the religious centre within the townscape. The indulgence celebrations currently take place from 29 June to 3 July; the main service is held on 2 July. Churches and historic urban layout
A separate religious landmark is the Church of Saint Stanislaus on the southwestern edge of town, immediately on the boundary with Karolew. The complex is considered a valuable example of sacred architecture in Greater Poland. An 18th-century wall surrounds the church, and the Baroque gate dates from 1795. Together, these details offer a concrete impression of how architectural history can be seen at a single site. The location is also useful for orientation: the Church of Saint Stanislaus is on the southwestern edge of town, while the sanctuary at Zdzież lies east of the town centre.
The urban layout also tells the story of different eras: it developed from the 15th to the 20th century. The built-up ensemble and urban layout of Borek Wielkopolski are entered in the register of monuments under number 1316/A, dated 5 June 1992. The town hall is another historic point of reference. It was built in 1855 and is listed under number 194/A, dated 22 August 1968. The Jewish cemetery in Borek Wielkopolski dates from the second half of the 18th century and adds another historic site to the picture of the town’s past.
