The village is home to the brick chapel “Kapliczka z figurą Matki Boskiej”, built in 1947. The village name itself also points to a long tradition: Stężyca is documented in medieval records in forms such as Stusicha, Stuzica, Stassycz and Stazycza.

In the wider regional surroundings of Stężyca lies the Church of St. Martin in Stary Gostyń; its oldest part is said to have been built at the beginning of the 14th century.
