The Palace: Baroque Architecture and Reconstruction
The palace in Czempiń is one of the most impressive Baroque residences in Greater Poland. The Church of St Simon and Jude the Apostles tells a different story: built of masonry in 1782, it replaced a wooden church that had previously been demolished. Together, the two churches represent different building periods and the transition from wooden to stone construction.
The Square and the Town’s History
Czempiń’s central square was once a market square. A church stands to its east, aligned with the square. The historic town layout is also part of the town’s heritage: in 2008, it was entered in the heritage register of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
