When looking for a hotel in Lipno, it helps to distinguish between the town and the surrounding municipality. Several of the churches and natural features presented here are within the municipality; other places are nearby. This makes the destination a combination of the town itself and distinctive sites across the municipality. As you plan your trip, consider whether historic buildings, landscapes or a mix of both should be the focus. Churches, river scenery and individual natural sites give Lipno a variety of highlights.

Churches and architectural details

Mórkowo’s sacred architecture includes a late Gothic church built of brick and granite, as well as the six-part star vault of the All Saints’ parish church, supported by two cylindrical pillars. A historic Gothic triptych dating from around 1370 is housed in the chapel at the headquarters of Towarzystwo Chrystusowego dla Polonii Zagranicznej. In Radomicko, the Neo-Romanesque church was built in the mid-19th century; St. Nicholas Church in Goniembice dates from 1815. Wilkowice adds two named churches to the selection: the parish church of St. Marcin and the branch church of St. Edyta Stein. The architectural styles therefore range from late Gothic details to Neo-Romanesque architecture; in Goniembice, the year 1815 provides a specific historical reference point.

The Samica River and protected nature

The Samica rises southwest of Lipno, flows through Lipno Municipality and on through Stare Bojanowo; it joins the Obra near Kraśnice. Forests, scenic landscapes and the Samica Valley, with its namesake stream, offer opportunities for active recreation in the municipality. Another natural highlight is the Dolinka nature reserve in the village of Goniembice. It covers 1.77 hectares and was established in 1974 to protect the endangered European globeflower, a member of the buttercup family. While the river and valley form part of a wider landscape, Dolinka focuses on one particular endangered plant.

Manor house, cycling route and legend

The manor house in Wyciążkowo dates from the mid-19th century and features late Neoclassical forms. It has two storeys; its front façade has a three-axis avant-corps, a projecting section of the façade. The manor house is located on a cycling route. The Stół Napoleona erratic boulder is nearby, on the road from Leszno to Lipno. According to legend, Napoleon supposedly used it as a dining table in 1812 while fleeing Moscow. Górka Duchowna is 5 km from Lipno. These sites offer two distinct ways to explore the municipality’s cultural landscape: precisely described architecture and a story explicitly passed down as a legend. The manor house was built around the same time as the Neo-Romanesque church in Radomicko.
