History and Culture

From the 18th century until 1939, Wojnowice belonged to the Mielżyński family, who also owned Dakowy Mokre. From 10 June 1919, the 1st Wielkopolska Squadron was stationed on the estate grounds for several months; it consisted of seven reconnaissance aircraft.

Kazimierz Raczyński was born in Wojnowice in 1739. The Church of Saint Brother Albert Chmielowski in Wojnowice was built between 1986 and 1990.

On Łagiewska Street, beyond the river in the direction of Łagiew, a former manor house from the mid-19th century has been preserved. It features a masonry-and-timber-frame construction, a hipped roof and a dormer. The large trees growing near the former manor house are remnants of a park that once existed there.

Geographical Location

Voivodeship Road No. 307 between Poznań and Nowy Tomyśl passes through Wojnowice. Before the Second World War, a narrow-gauge railway approximately 8 km long began in Wojnowice and ran via Szewce and Uścięcice to Dakowy Mokre.
