The name Runowo was first mentioned in a written document in 1325. Another historical connection is Countess Teofila z Działyńskich Szołdrska-Potulicka, known as “Biała Dama” (“White Lady”): she was born in the palace at Runowo. Pałac Runowo is located in Runowo Krajeńskie within Krajeński Park Krajobrazowy. In 1945, German troops burned down the palace; in the postwar years, it finally became a ruin. A clock tower remains from the original palace. The year 1325 refers to the first written mention of the name; 1945 marks a turning point in the palace’s history. Church and other historic landmarks
The parish church was built from 1606 to 1609 in the late Renaissance style, on the site of an earlier wooden church. Orzelski, and date back to the early 17th and 18th centuries. The organist’s house in Runowo Krajeńskie, dating to the late 18th century, provides another point of reference.
