Discover Boguszów-Gorce: Towers, History and Trails
Accommodation in Boguszów-Gorce
Boguszów-Gorce offers several specific starting points for planning your trip: the town hall and its history, observation towers at different locations, and trails with religious and landscape connections. Railway stations in the town complete the picture. You can focus on culture, views or active outings and plan your stay accordingly.
Getting here and finding your way around
Boguszów-Gorce has three railway stations: Boguszów-Gorce, Boguszów-Gorce Wschód and Boguszów-Gorce Zachód. They are on the Wrocław–Jelenia Góra line. There is also the Boguszów-Gorce Dzikowiec stop on line 291 to Adršpach. If you plan to travel by train, check the current timetable before setting off. The names of the three stations and the stop can help you distinguish the best arrival point for your plans.
The town hall and religious trail stops
Boguszów-Gorce Town Hall was entered in the register of monuments in 1976 and is the seat of the city administration. The administrative building itself is therefore a place to visit for anyone who wants to take in the town’s architectural history during their stay. A station on the International St. Adalbert Way was officially opened at Plac Odrodzenia in 2023.
Another trail with a religious connection is the Trudu Górniczego Way of the Cross, which has run from Boguszów since 2001. It follows a tourist route to the Millennium Cross and includes 14 stations marked by granite plaques. This lets you choose between a single place in the town centre and a route with several stops when planning your visit.
Viewpoints at Dzikowiec and in town
The OSR Dzikowiec complex includes a service building with a restaurant. The observation tower on Dzikowiec is 38.5 metres tall, with a platform height of 32.5 metres. The 38.5-metre-high tower opened in 2025 and is accessible year-round. In winter, watch out for icing. The tower must not be entered in adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds. Check local notices before your visit.
The headframe at Szyb Witold also serves as an observation tower today. It takes 117 steps to reach the viewing area. The towers therefore differ not only in location, but also in height and ascent details: the Dzikowiec tower’s total and platform heights are specified, while the number of steps is given for Szyb Witold. These details offer practical guidance if viewpoints are part of your travel plans.
Activities and trails nearby
Dzikowiec Wielki lies about 3.4 kilometres south of the town centre. In summer, Dzikowiec is a destination for hiking and cycling; downhill biking and paragliding are also available there. In winter, there is a ski slope for experienced skiers and a slope suitable for beginners. The season therefore shapes the activities: summer is for tours and outdoor descents, while winter focuses on skiing.
The 50-kilometre Jubilee Trail runs as a circular route through the surrounding municipality. You can walk it in either direction and start or finish at any point. Its route passes through Mniszek, Chełmiec and Dzikowiec, as well as all the districts of Boguszów-Gorce. For planning, the most useful details are its length and the flexibility to choose your own start and finish; the trail need not be treated as a loop beginning at one fixed point.
Nearby, Chełmiec has a stone observation tower commissioned by the Hochbergs in 1887–1888. The 22-metre-high structure is designed as a ruin with an inn and mountain hut. Together with the viewpoints in Boguszów-Gorce and at Dzikowiec, this historic tower adds another distinctive place to the selection. The destinations described here range from local history and trail stops to viewpoints and seasonal activities.
