History

After Puchaczów was founded in 1527 in the area of the settlement, the village began to be called Stara Wieś. Historical records refer to Stara Wieś by the forms “Laczna” in 1252 and “Laczna monachorum” in 1428.

In the past, Stara Wieś belonged to the Benedictines of Sieciechów.

Harvest and Culture

A harvest procession led from Stara Wieś to the square in Puchaczów. At a harvest celebration, works by the local poet Eugenia Rozwałka from Stara Wieś, Puchaczów municipality, were performed.
