Czosnówka: Paths, the Krzna and Local History
Accommodation in Czosnówka
Czosnówka can be explored on different scales: a footpath and cycle path along ul. Bialska, the Krzna with a kayaking route lasting several hours, and a longer circular tour through several places offer different ways to plan your visit. There is also a historical connection dating back to 1596 and a family festival held for several years. If you are looking for accommodation here, you can consider whether time by the water, local paths or a full-day tour will shape your stay.
By the Krzna: a paddling route and riverbank
The Krzna flows along the northern edge of Czosnówka; a weir is also located there. A 17.5-kilometre kayaking route on the river runs from Styrzyniec to Czosnówka Tama. The paddle is estimated to take four to five hours, making it an activity lasting several hours. If you plan the trip, check the current river and operating conditions in advance, as both can vary.
A path in the village and a longer circular tour
Since 2025, residents and tourists have been able to use the newly built footpath and cycle path along ul. Bialska in Czosnówka. It adds a path within the village to the longer outings. A 2008 guidebook also describes a 45-kilometre, full-day circular tour on paved roads as a suggested route. It runs from Biała Podlaska through Czosnówka, Ortel Książęcy, Ortel Królewski, Studzianka, Łomazy, Dubów and Wólka Plebańska, returning to Biała Podlaska. In terms of both length and time, the circular tour is therefore quite different from the local path along ul. Bialska.
Local history and a community festival
One specific historical reference dates back to 1596, when the settlement then called Szczosnówka was assigned to the parish of St. Anne in Biała Podlaska. A family festival has been held in Czosnówka for several years. At one edition of the family festival and the competition for village councils of the Gmina Biała Podlaska, around 1,500 people gathered. The programme for that edition included sports competitions, demonstrations by emergency services, activities for children, musical performances and celebrations together. If a specific festival date is important for your trip, check the announcements for that edition.
Plan your stay around the time available
A railway line runs through Czosnówka. For planning your day, you can compare the two longer activities by their stated duration: the paddle is estimated at four to five hours, while the circular tour is described as a full-day outing. This can help you decide whether to focus on several hours on the water or a tour through several places. The path along ul. Bialska offers a local option, without requiring all activities to follow a set itinerary.
