Lubikowo offers several ways to explore the surrounding area: hiking trails pass through the village, and cycling routes also run through Lubikowo. Lake Lubikowskie lies to the southwest. The lake, protected Konwaliowa Island and signposted routes give your trip different focuses—from nature watching to cycling excursions.

Lake and protected landscape

Lake Lubikowskie covers 314.7 ha and is up to 36 m deep. It lies within the protected area of Pszczew Landscape Park, so its waters are subject to special protection. If you are planning a stay in Lubikowo, this lake area offers a distinctive natural setting, whose waters and shoreline landscape are specially protected.

In the southeast of the lake lies the 4.4 ha Konwaliowa Island, a nature reserve and a protected forest and landscape area. It protects a natural old-growth oak stand and the plant community associated with it. The landscape also includes extensive reed beds that serve as nesting grounds for waterbirds. The island is also a place for observing nature: a white-tailed eagle often visits to rest or prepare to hunt.

On the northern shoreline of the island, the water's edge is shallow; there are boulders there more than 2 m in diameter. This particular landscape feature complements the view of the oaks and reeds and makes the island a distinctive natural attraction on Lake Lubikowskie.

Water activities on Lake Lubikowskie

The lake offers good conditions for windsurfing: the bottom is sandy, and shallows extend up to 150 m from the shore. The particularly firm, sandy lakebed and gently sloping banks are also suitable for relaxing on the beach and swimming. Sailing regattas are held on the lake every year on the last weekend of August. If you would like to combine your trip with a water sports event, this recurring weekend is a useful point of reference for planning your dates.
