On the north bank of the Soła River lies Miedzybrodzie Bialskie, where the artificial lake Jezioro Międzybrodzkie and the mountains of the Beskid Mały form the landscape. The lake covers an area of 3.8 km² and is about 5 km long. In addition to its original function, it also serves as a recreation area. For planning your trip, the destination therefore combines two distinct focuses: the lake area and hiking destinations in the surrounding mountain landscape.

Lakeshore and mountain landscape

Along the shores of Jezioro Międzybrodzkie, the slopes of the mountain ranges that are part of the Beskid Mały descend towards the water. The village itself also lies in the valleys of the Ponikiew, Duża Żarnówka and Mała Żarnówka streams, as well as on the slopes of Rogacz, Magurka and Hrobacza Łąka. Water, streams and mountain slopes thus shape different parts of the local landscape.

Jezioro Międzybrodzkie is an artificial lake on the Soła River. Its recreational function is part of its stated significance, but does not imply any particular activity. OWR Przystań Międzybrodzie Bialskie, ul. Żywiecka 52, offers single and double kayaks, traditional kayaks, sit-on-top kayaks, canoes and SUP equipment. If you are interested in a trip involving water, this is a specific reference to the water-sports equipment mentioned there.

Hiking trails to Magurka and Czupel

A yellow trail leads from the village centre via Międzybrodzie Ponikiew to Magurka, at 909 m, and the PTTK mountain hut. The ascent takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. A marked trail also leads from Miedzybrodzie Bialskie to Czupel, at 933 m. This peak is the highest in the Beskid Mały. When choosing your hiking destinations, you can therefore distinguish between Magurka, with its mountain hut, and Czupel, the highest peak in the range.

Another hiking route described here runs from Czernichów via Czupel and Magurka to Międzybrodzie Bialskie. It is 15 km long and covers a smaller, more frequently visited part of the Beskid Mały Landscape Park. The stated distance applies to the entire route between the named places. Separate from this is the time given for the section from Czupel to Magurka Wilkowicka: it takes a little over half an hour. This does not apply to the entire route from Miedzybrodzie Bialskie.

The area around Jezioro Międzybrodzkie is also a starting point for hiking trails to the surrounding peaks of the Beskid Mały. You therefore have several named destinations to choose from: Magurka, Czupel and the peaks around the lake area. The distance and duration details apply to the specific trails or sections mentioned and cannot be applied indiscriminately to other hikes.

Church and local event

The village is home to a brick church dating from 1863. It houses valuable Renaissance and Baroque paintings and adds a cultural point of interest to the landscape. If you are interested in historic churches and painting, you can include this in your travel plans.

Another part of local life is “Święto Morza,” held annually in June or July. When planning, the event offers a seasonal reason to consider local events alongside the lake and hiking trails.
