Pietrzykowice was established in the 13th century on the site of a Slavic settlement destroyed by Tatar raids. Historically, the place was known as Schreibersdorf and was founded under Magdeburg rights.

Culture

After Pietrzykowice had been a princely village, it was donated to the Cistercian Order from Rudy near Racibórz. The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Pietrzykowice is a single-nave, brick-built church with a tower.
