The 1.6 km “Dolina rzeki Kłodnicy” nature trail starts in Przyszowice on ul. Leśna and follows the Potok Jasienica to the park in Przyszowice. The 3.4 km “Potok Jasienica” trail connects the castle in Chudów with the palace in Przyszowice. More than twice as long as the 1.6 km trail, it differs not only in length but also in its endpoints: rather than following the stream to a park, it connects two named buildings.
Park and Landscape
The landscape park near the palace is laid out in the English style and currently covers 9.84 ha. A municipal description published in 2012 names a pedunculate oak more than 150 years old as the oldest tree in the palace park. This age estimate is part of the description at that time. In the same municipality, sections of the Potok Jasienica have also retained their natural stream beds in places. The park and the stream sections are thus distinct aspects of the landscape that feature in exploring Przyszowice.
Silesian Everyday Life and Architectural History
The Izba Regionalna is located in two rooms on the upper floor of the palace. It features a faithfully recreated Silesian home from 100 years ago. The exhibition also illustrates how a typical Silesian family lived at the beginning of the 20th century. The focus is therefore on domestic life, not solely on the history of the palace building.
Another exhibition in part of the palace is devoted to the history of the palace and the von Raczek family associated with the place. Taken together, the exhibitions offer two different perspectives: the Izba Regionalna focuses on Silesian homes and family life, while the other explores the history of the palace and the family associated with Przyszowice. The wooden parish granary is also among the town’s cultural attractions. It was built in 1829 and is a stop on the Wooden Architecture Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.
