Myszków combines marked cycling routes with architectural and transport history. When planning your stay, two distinct interests take centre stage: routes with specific destinations and places that tell the story of the city and its surroundings. The routes vary in length, course and endpoint; historic buildings add significant dates and context to this active perspective.

Cycling routes with different destinations

The blue Cz-7004n cycling route connects Myszków with Poręba. Its 17-kilometre course passes through Gruchla, Kręciwilk, Mrzygłód and Mrzygłódka. The green-marked Zygmunt Krasiński Jurajski Cycling Route sets a different geographical framework: it connects Częstochowa with Myszków, passes through Złoty Potok and Żarki, and ends in the centre of Myszków. The two routes can therefore be distinguished by their named places and courses—one leads to Poręba, while the other goes as far as the centre of Myszków.

The wider Myszków travel destination has additional cycling routes. The 70-kilometre Smy-102n, “cycling along the steelworks route,” runs from Myszków railway station through several named places to Poraj railway station. The 49-kilometre Smy-103c is called “cycling along the route of natural monuments”; its named sections include Żarki Letnisko, Myszków Nowa Wieś and Myszków PKP. Also within this wider travel area, the 83-kilometre Smy-101s, “cycling along the castles route,” leads to the market square in Siewierz. The names and destinations give you different reference points when planning your choice of routes. The course, condition or markings of cycling routes may change; check current conditions before setting off.

Religious architecture and railway history

In Myszków-Mrzygłód stands the Sanctuary of the Assumption of Mary, built between 1653 and 1662 at the initiative of Stanisław Warszycki, castellan of Kraków. It is listed in both the immovable and archaeological monuments registers. The chapel in Będusz commemorates a battle between the nobility of Siewierz and Swedish troops. It was built in 1656 and renovated in 1926. Together, the two buildings offer insight into different historical contexts and the history of the places that make up Myszków.

The 19th-century railway station complex also tells the story of an earlier transport connection: it is associated with the former Warsaw–Vienna railway. The railway line was built in the mid-19th century.

Excursions in the wider Myszków travel destination

Beyond the local routes and buildings, the wider Myszków travel destination offers further connections with the landscape. Part of Myszkowski County lies within the “Eagles’ Nests” Landscape Park. Around 110 kilometres of hiking trails and more than 200 kilometres of cycling routes also run through the county. A green-marked hiking trail starts at the market square in Myszków-Mrzygłód and passes through several places on its way to Góra Zborów. Its named starting point and destination help you place the hiking route within the wider travel area; as with cycling routes, current conditions should be checked before setting out.

When choosing a hotel in Myszków, you can first consider whether cycling routes, historic buildings or both will shape your stay. The specific route destinations and architectural history offer different ways to plan, without requiring you to limit yourself to just one way of exploring.
