Castle museum with two permanent exhibitions
The Museum of the Pomeranian Land in Siemczyno is located in the castle. Its two permanent exhibitions include the Interactive Baroque Museum and a universe of different crafts. The Baroque Museum is housed in the spacious castle cellars. Its rooms use historical interpretation and design to show what a Baroque court and daily life there might have looked like. The presentation is deliberately an approximation of the past: it invites visitors to touch things, look for details and ask questions. The focus is therefore not only on viewing exhibits, but also on engaging with life at court.
Architecture of Pałac Siemczyno
The castle’s form also shapes the character of the place. Pałac Siemczyno has a horseshoe-shaped floor plan with a terrace in the middle. The central section has a mansard roof; a multistorey wing adjoins it on the left, and a lower extension on the right. These differences give the complex a clearly articulated form. Anyone interested in historic architectural styles can observe several architectural features in one building, rather than experiencing the castle only through a single period or exhibit.
Park, ponds and underground passage
South of the castle is the park, which covers more than three hectares and was laid out in the 18th century. Former ponds border its southern side; a channel connects them to Lake Wilczkowo. The historic garden complex therefore also includes a waterscape and traces of earlier park design. Visitors can also access an underground passage about 80 metres long in the park. It runs between the lime and hornbeam avenue and the pond. The passage was discovered and cleared, or reopened, in 2019. It once led from the castle. Before your visit, briefly check the local conditions in case access arrangements have changed.
Ceramics as a hands-on addition
Individual and group ceramics workshops are held at KuĹşnia Ceramiczna on the castle grounds. They complement the historical exhibitions with a hands-on craft activity. The different options offer different focuses: the museum centres on interpretation and discovery, the park leads out into the historic landscape, and the ceramics workshop lets you work with the material yourself.
