Get to know Brzoza through its manor house, park and the history of the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa. There are also projects for pedestrian and cycling paths, which, as initiatives from 2020 and 2021, form part of a distinct planning context. This gives you a clear focus when choosing a destination: historic architecture and transport routes alongside the parkland.

Manor House and Park

The manor house in Brzoza was built around 1900, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A portico with four columns stands in front of the entrance. A portico is a columned porch; here, four columns form a distinctive feature at the entrance. At the same time, the overall layout of the manor complex has largely been preserved, although the appearance and use of the buildings have changed slightly. This brings together a single architectural feature and the broader layout of the complex.

A recreation centre has been established in the park. Two ponds lie northwest of the manor house: one in the park, the other immediately beyond its western boundary. This distinction is useful for orientation, since only one of the two ponds is within the park. Together, the manor house, park and ponds give a concrete picture of Brzoza’s layout.

Railway History and Planned Routes

Brzoza had a stop on the decommissioned Krotoszyn–Pleszew section of the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa. The line was closed on 12 January 1986. This links the railway’s history to a specific section of track and an exact date. It offers a distinct historical perspective on the town, alongside the architectural history of the manor house.

Pedestrian and cycling paths were also the subject of several projects. A project description dated 7 June 2021 proposed a 3,127-metre section of cycle path from Brzoza to Nowy Folwark, intended to connect existing sections. Another project description, dated 21 June 2021, placed a planned pedestrian and cycling path starting in Brzoza on the “Śladami Bany” route. This route was to connect Krotoszyn with Rozdrażew and follow the former route of the Krotoszyńska Kolej Dojazdowa. A pedestrian and cycling path along county road 4331P, on the Nowy Folwark–Bożacin–Brzoza route, was also planned. The projects differ in their details: a section with a specified length, a proposed link along the former railway route, and a corridor along the county road.
