Architectural history and culture in Zduny

The parish church of St. John the Baptist was built in the Baroque style between 1719 and 1733. Zduny Town Hall has a façade with an arcade running its entire length, supported by five columns. The town hall also houses the Zdunowski Ośrodek Kultury cultural centre, a café and a bank. The church and town hall therefore offer different architectural points of reference: the Baroque style in one case, and an uninterrupted arcade façade in the other.

The Izba Muzealna of the Zdunowski Ośrodek Kultury cultural centre has been housed since 1985 in a former townhouse dating from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Its collections are displayed in three exhibition rooms. Two dates are important for placing it in context: the house dates from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, and it has been used as a museum since 1985. The Zdunowskiego Kafla Gallery offers another perspective through Jarosław Ciąder’s private collection; it opened in March 2025. While the Izba Muzealna displays collections in three rooms, the gallery focuses on a private collection.

The former Protestant church hosts chamber, choral and opera concerts in its interior. Historical and special-event exhibitions are also held there. This lets you distinguish the cultural venues by what they offer: the Izba Muzealna and the gallery display collections, while the former church hosts concerts and exhibitions.

Ceramics classes for a mixed-age group are held on Tuesdays in the historical section of the Stara Kaflarnia. This makes the class a distinct ceramics activity alongside the collections and exhibitions.

Hiking trail and outdoor swimming pool

The green hiking trail from Zduny to Krotoszyn is 12.2 km long. It runs from Zduny railway station to the town hall, then continues via Borownica, the rampart of the Greater Poland insurgents and Krotoszyn Town Forest, ending at the Regional Museum and railway station in Krotoszyn. The route therefore passes several named points between the two towns. You can use this route description to decide whether the trail to Krotoszyn suits your hiking plans.

The outdoor swimming pool in Zduny offers a different kind of outing. One pool measures 50 × 20 m and the other 22 × 20 m; both are 20 m wide but differ in length. The facility also has a beach volleyball court and a playground. Availability may vary by season. Compared with the 12.2 km hiking route, the focus here is on the pools and other recreational facilities.
