Chlebice: Nature and Village History

Chlebice combines natural features with traces of village history. Protected pedunculate oaks, a blue cycling route and a complex of ponds in the surrounding area give the village several points of interest. There are also mill ruins on the Rzeczyca (Tymnica) River and a landscape park that forms part of the remains of a former manor estate.

Nature among Trees, Water and Forest

Two protected pedunculate oaks stand in Chlebice. One has a trunk circumference of 4.2 metres, the other 3.1 metres. Both are listed as natural monuments in the municipal strategy for 2024 to 2030. Their measurements make the trees easy to distinguish: they belong to the same species and protection category, but have significantly different trunk circumferences.

A 14.3-hectare complex of ponds fed by forest ditches lies in the surrounding area of Chlebice. A river also runs nearby in a distinctly defined valley. This means two different waterscapes are described: a pond area with a specified water source and a river valley. They provide distinct natural features, without the river needing to be assigned a specific name.

Cycling and Other Nature Highlights

A blue cycling route runs through Grabów, Chlebice, Dębinka, Zajączek and Jędrzychowice, continuing towards Przewóz. The route passes through the Mużakowa Landscape Park for a six-kilometre stretch. The six kilometres refer to this section in the park; they are not given as the total length of the route. Check the route’s current course and condition before setting off.
