Waterways and views from Góra Sobótka

Water also helps orient visitors in Ręboszewo. The “Kółko Raduńskie” waterway runs through the village. The Radunia flows through Lake Wielkie Brodno, forming a kayaking route of about 37 kilometres here. As additional context, Karthaus (Kartuzy) is part of the wider destination. It is home to a Gothic collegiate church dating from the 14th century. It is one of Pomerania’s most valuable architectural monuments, unique on a national scale, and bears witness to the work of the Carthusian Order. Its distinctive Baroque roof, shaped like a coffin lid, is particularly striking: it symbolises the Order’s monastic ideal and its motto, “memento mori”. This is a cultural highlight in Karthaus in its own right, not an attraction in Ręboszewo.

Also in Kartuzy, the Franciszek Treder Kashubian Museum is devoted to Kashubian cultural heritage. Its subject areas include literature, material culture, language, regional history and traditions. The exhibits are housed in eight galleries in the main building. You will also find Bazyli’s forge, the exhibition “Kaszubska współczesność z korzeni wyrasta” and temporary exhibitions there. The church and museum offer different perspectives: the collegiate church brings together architecture and the history of the Carthusian Order, while the museum explores several aspects of Kashubian culture.

Walks and routes in Karthaus

There are other specific points of reference for routes in the wider destination of Karthaus. The Promenada Asesora in Kartuzy is a walking and cycling path beside Lake Karczemne, linked to the Ławka Asesora, which serves as a viewpoint over Kartuzy. Another promenade beside Lake Klasztorne Małe was created in 2020. The green Nordic walking route around Kartuzy starts and ends at the Ławka Asesora. It runs through woodland and hilly terrain and passes close to small forest lakes.

There are also routes described for longer trips: Nordic Walking Route No. 1 covers 8.4 kilometres and takes about two hours, running from the Ławka Asesora via Kosy and Bilowo to Kartuzy. The blue-marked Szlak Kartuski runs from Trójmiasto through the Kashubian Lake District to Kartuzy. Check the details of both routes again before setting out. The Kartuska Nature Bike Route is just under 26 kilometres long and marked in green. These routes offer more ways to find your bearings in the wider destination, but should not be understood as routes in Ręboszewo.

Kartuzy has good rail connections with Trójmiasto. When looking for accommodation, you can therefore first decide whether Ręboszewo, with its named waterways and viewpoints, or the additional cultural and route context of Karthaus better suits your travel plans.
