Ostródzki: Culture, Water and Nature

Ostródzki offers a variety of reasons to plan a stay: events, water sports and transport links are the focus in Ostróda, while the urban municipality also contains protected natural areas. Culture and events in Ostróda

The amphitheatre in Ostróda is suitable for music concerts, theatre performances, cabaret and other large-scale events. It has 2,500 seats and is fully covered. In summer, it hosts cabaret events, music concerts and other artistic performances. If you would like to combine your trip with attending an event, the amphitheatre is a specific point of reference; the different formats range from music and theatre to cabaret.

The water ski lift in Ostróda is 800 metres long. It is electronically controlled from the shore and can accommodate up to nine water skiers at the same time. There are volleyball courts on the beach at Lake Sajmino, where tournaments with prizes are regularly held. The beach is busiest during the summer season. Nature in the urban municipality

Nature reserves are also part of the character of the urban municipality of Ostróda. The Natura 2000 site “Dolina Drwęcy” (PLH280001) is one of the protected areas within its boundaries. The “Rzeka Drwęca” nature reserve, Poland’s longest ichthyological nature reserve, is also located in the urban municipality of Ostróda. These two protected areas can be considered as nature destinations in their own right, alongside the attractions in Ostróda.

Wzgórza Dylewskie Landscape Park is located in the municipalities of Ostróda, Lubawa, Dąbrówno and Grunwald. It covers 7,169.76 hectares, and its buffer zone covers 14,664.22 hectares. These different area figures refer to the park and its buffer zone. For your choice of destinations, this means that nature sites are not limited to the urban area of Ostróda, but extend across several municipalities.

The Kanał Ostródzko-Elbląski is described as the main tourist attraction of Ostróda and Mazury Zachodnie (Western Masuria). The landing stage of Żegluga Ostródzko-Elbląska and a seasonal tourist information office are located on the shore of Lake Drwęckie in Ostróda. Getting here and other places

Major transport routes between Poznań and Olsztyn, and between Warsaw and Gdańsk, intersect in Ostróda. These include the S7 expressway and national roads 15 and 16; rail connections are also available.
