Bialy Grunt: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture and History

The village of Biały Grunt was founded in 1788 on newly cleared land in the Korpelskie Forests. The village’s official name was changed to Weißengrund in 1938 as part of a Germanisation campaign.

The finale of the “Chodź opowiem Ci pewną historię” project took place in Biały Grunt. The “Teatr przy stoliku” event was hosted at the Biały Grunt village community hall, where Pierre Sauvil’s play “Serce dla dwojga” was read.

Several workshops focused on creating things together. A culinary workshop in Biały Grunt centred on yeast ingredients and yeast, while another involved baking Wrocław rolls. At a second culinary workshop, participants prepared goulash soup together.

Pottery was also the subject of several events in Biały Grunt. At one pottery workshop, participants practised working on the potter’s wheel and by hand. At a second pottery workshop, flat objects, plates and coasters were made. At the third pottery workshop, participants glazed their work.

At the “Biesiada Myśliwska z EKOwspólnotą „Dzik kontra Świnia“” event, Biały Grunt took first place among the villages of the Świętajno municipality in the “Chłopski garnek” culinary competition. At the same event, the village came third in the “Czas na Pulpeta” competition for pork meatballs.
