Krzywin brings together a distinctive ecclesiastical heritage, two cycling routes and a location that is partly within two Natura 2000 sites. This offers different points of interest when choosing a destination: architecture, a route with specified lengths and surfaces, and protected areas with different focuses.

Gothic parish church and art at the entrance

The parish church pw. Niepokalanego Serca NMP is a Gothic building dating from the 15th century. Fieldstones and bricks characterise the building; its floor plan is quadrangular, and a wooden tower is incorporated into the body of the nave. Those interested in architectural forms will find several specific features here that help describe the church, rather than relying on its age alone as a point of reference.

The church also preserves a decorative tracery gable from the 16th century. Inside, it has a bell dating from 1937. A 3.5-metre-high sculpture of Pope John Paul II stands in front of the entrance. It was created by Aleksander Fatiga from Krzywin. The building’s history, the bell and the sculpture each add a distinct historical and artistic dimension. Together, they form a compact cultural and historical highlight for travellers interested in sacred architecture and public art when choosing a destination.

Cycling routes of different lengths and itineraries

The blue Południowy Szlak Łącznikowy runs from Ognica via Rynica to Krzywin railway station. It is 8.95 kilometres long and follows both paved and unpaved roads. Its length and surface provide two specific points of reference for planning a ride; the route can therefore be described not only by its name, but also by its itinerary and surfaces.

The black Banie–Baniewice–Żelechowo–Krzywin cycling route offers another option. It is 19.0 kilometres long and ends in Krzywin, where it meets the blue “Południowy” cycling route of the Widuchowa municipality. The two routes differ considerably in length, and a different itinerary is specified for the black route. If you are including cycling in your trip plans, you can compare these details with your preference for a shorter or longer route, rather than judging the routes by colour alone.

Part of two Natura 2000 sites

Krzywin lies partly within the Dolina Dolnej Odry Natura 2000 site (PLB 320003), a special protection area for birds. The village also lies partly within the Dolna Odra site (PLH 320037), which protects habitats. The two designations distinguish their conservation focuses: one is a bird protection area, while the other is a habitat protection area.

Considering Krzywin as a destination

Krzywin is described as an oval-shaped village on the Southern Connecting Cycling Route. Its buildings are concentrated along Voivodeship Road 122, on the Krajnik Dolny–Pyrzyce route, as well as along municipal roads.

To help make your decision, you can weigh the different themes against one another: the church is a clear cultural and historical highlight, the cycling routes have named itineraries and specified lengths, and the Natura 2000 sites differ in their conservation focus.
