Narrow-Gauge Railway and Architectural History
The narrow-gauge railway station in Manowo was built in 1912. Another historic landmark is the preserved naturalistic park, which is listed in the heritage register. The Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, by contrast, was built between 1980 and 1983. The station, park and church therefore represent different aspects of the town’s history. Many decades separate their construction dates.
The Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa is also part of the narrow-gauge railway story: it is a 19th-century technical monument protected by law. Its routes include Koszalin–Manowo (12 km) and Koszalin–Rosnowo (20 km); it carries tourists and excursion groups. Manowo is therefore also the terminus of the route from Koszalin mentioned here. Nature on Czapla Góra
Czapla Góra has the character of a woodland park and is a breeding site for grey herons. There is also a group of five pedunculate oaks with trunk circumferences of up to 490 cm. This maximum figure describes the largest circumference in the group; it does not apply to every individual tree. Cycling Routes with Different Layouts
The red Szlak Morenowej Przełęczy cycling route is 14 km long. It runs from Manowo via Policko, Maszkowo and Kłos. It starts in Manowo, at the beginning of the road to Wyszebórz. The green Szlak Spichlerzy is 32 km long and runs from Mścice via Biesiekierz, Dunowo, Jarzyce and Świeszyno to Manowo. The two routes differ both in their stated lengths and in the order of the places they pass through.
Another option is the Trasa Słoneczna: it passes through Manowo, Niedalino and Zacisze before returning to Manowo. The three descriptions can therefore also be distinguished by the role Manowo plays in each route: the red route starts there, the green one ends there, and the Trasa Słoneczna returns there.
