The medieval defensive walls of Koszalin formed a 1,600-metre ring with 46 defensive walkways and three gates. The Staromiejska Tourist Route offers another way to explore the city’s history: it passes 28 historic buildings, with information boards and metal markers on the ground showing the way. The “Poznaj Historię” route uses QR codes on special signs to tell the stories of nine places along the city’s tourist trail. Individual buildings also tell different chapters of Koszalin’s story. The Castle Church (“Kościół zamkowy”) dates from the 13th or 14th century, is now an Orthodox church and is listed in the register of monuments. “Domek Kata” is a Gothic townhouse from the 15th century and has been home to Teatr Propozycji “Dialog” since 1964.
Cultural offerings and local traditions
The Zagroda Jamneńska in northern Koszalin showcases artefacts associated with Jamno culture. Its year-round workshop programme includes ceramics, embroidery, small-scale weaving, polychrome woodwork and block printing on fabric. As well as viewing the exhibits, visitors can explore a range of traditional crafts.

Góra Chełmska and protected nature
On the Góra Chełmska massif, Krzyżanka is the highest peak, at 136.2 metres above sea level. The blue-marked, 12-kilometre “Porwanego Księcia” hiking trail runs from Koszalin via Sianów to Góra Chełmska and through its forest areas. Check the trail markers and conditions before setting out. Also located there is Wakepark Koszalin, with a two-tower cable system, equipment rental and instructor supervision. These offerings are clearly distinct: pools and a waterslide, a seasonal swimming area and the wakepark.
