Kluszkowce on Lake Czorsztyńskie

Kluszkowce combines its location on Lake Czorsztyńskie with cultural attractions and trails through the landscape around Lubań. The peaks of the surrounding Pieniny and Gorce Mountains are reflected in the lake. The village lies in the valley of the Kluszkowianka stream on the southwestern slopes of Lubań, at an elevation of 530 to 600 m. Historic architecture and local history

One way to explore architectural history is to visit Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn on the Stylchyn peninsula. This open-air tourist complex comprises 31 architectural structures. These include 9 historic wooden guesthouses and villas, 11 rural farmhouses and farm buildings, and 11 stone cellars with wooden superstructures. The different types of buildings illustrate the composition of the ensemble: residential and farm buildings stand alongside the cellars, whose wooden superstructures provide a distinctive architectural feature.

Wąwóz Papieski is also associated with a specific historical event. The gorge commemorates a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Wojtyła on a meadow in front of its entrance on 9 July 1978. It took place during the spiritual retreat of the Światło–Życie movement. Nature trails and hiking routes

An educational nature trail runs through Wąwóz Papieski along the route of an old andesite quarry. Here, nature and the site's former use come together. Its facilities include viewing terraces, shelters and maps showing the route and the nature of the reserve. Other access points are on Leśna and Modrzewiowa streets in Kluszkowce.

For a longer hike, a route is described from Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn via Jaworzyny Ochotnickie to Lubań. It is 8.7 km long and takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes. When planning your day, take into account both the stated distance and the approximate walking time. The starting point, intermediate stop and destination are clearly named, making it easy to consider this as a hike in its own right.

Activities on the slopes and by the water

Kluszkowce offers ski runs with three lifts. The lifts take visitors to the slope in five minutes. Another activity is the 1,000 m-long summer roller-coaster on Góra Wdżar. These options give you different ways to stay active during your visit without having to plan the same kind of outing.

At Lake Czorsztyńskie, the AQUALAND water station offers a beach and rental of pedal boats, boats and kayaks. The marina of the Podhalańskie Towarzystwo Żeglarskie has floating piers where sailboats and motorboats can moor. The lake therefore offers both watercraft for hire and a marina for boats. A bacówka next to the marina sells Oscypek and other regional cheeses.

Regional traditions

The Pieniński Wypas Kulturowy has been held in Kluszkowce at least three times and celebrates the end of the grazing season. The event focuses on traditions, music and regional flavors. This gives its name a specific connection to pastoral life and local culture; the event has taken place at least three times.
