Koziniec offers two distinct points of reference for getting to know the place on your trip to Poland: its landscape and its local cultural landmarks. The Czerna stream flows through Koziniec and is a tributary of the Skawa. The village is also close to the eastern slopes of the Beskid Mały. The stream and mountain slopes give the surroundings distinct contours; the peaks above the village make the landscape even more tangible.

From above Koziniec, you can see the peaks of Skalnica, Kapral, Kamień and Żar. These four names help you take in the surroundings not just as a general mountain landscape, but through individual peaks. Chapels, figures and village history
In Koziniec “Wiercimakowo” stands a brick Mass chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, dating from the mid-19th century. The chapel’s statue of Mary dates from the early 20th century: Mary is depicted in white robes with outstretched arms. A stone statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, also from the early 20th century, is located in the same part of the village. Another religious motif can be found in Koziniec “Stańkowo”: a stone sculpture of Christ falling beneath the cross. It differs clearly from the statues of Mary and adds another biblical depiction to the picture of local artworks. A chapel with a statue of Mary now stands on the Warchał family’s property. These places and depictions offer several tangible points of reference for exploring Koziniec’s religious culture.
The village’s former school history can also be read in a building: in Koziniec “Wiercimakowo” stands a brick former elementary school building dating from 1935. As a former school, it complements the chapels and religious figures with a building that served a different purpose. The chapel and the former elementary school represent different strands of local history: religious life and education, with construction dates ranging from the mid-19th century to 1935.
Koziniec’s cultural life also includes the Ludowa Dziecięca Kapela “Kozinianie,” a children’s folk music ensemble. Together with the chapels, figures and former elementary school, the ensemble reveals another side of the place: alongside the landscape and buildings, it has a named local musical tradition.
