A look at Łękawica

The former wooden Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Łękawica burned down on 26 October 1992. If this particular feature matters to you, decide whether Łękawica belongs on your destination list before looking for accommodation there.

The former wooden church was built in 1547 in the Silesian-Lesser Poland style and was destroyed by fire in 1992 together with its polychrome furnishings.

A grotto with a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary is the surviving relic of the former church site.

The replacement church built near the former site was consecrated in 1997 and continues to bear the patronage of St. Michael the Archangel and Saints Peter and Paul.
