Milowka (Milówka) brings together a cycling route along the Soła, opportunities for physical activity in Park Gminny, and cultural insights through church architecture and regional storytelling traditions. If you are looking for accommodation in Milowka, these different themes can help you choose what to explore based on your travel group’s interests. The following highlights range from a route along the river and activities in the park to history and events.

Cycling and exercise along the Soła

An approximately 5 km cycling route runs through Milowka along the Soła. The route has a stated elevation difference of 25 metres. Its length and elevation difference provide specific details for your planning, while the route through the town also uses the river as a point of reference.

Another place for cyclists to visit is the pump track by the Soła. It connects to an existing cycle path and is used to train for riding in hilly terrain. Inline skaters, skateboarders and scooter riders can also use the pump track. Milowka therefore offers different kinds of physical activity: a cycling route along the river and a training facility for various wheeled sports.

Park Gminny as a destination in its own right

Park Gminny lies on the banks of the Soła and covers approximately three hectares. It includes a high ropes course with 27 obstacles across two routes of different difficulty levels. The routes are intended for people taller than 160 cm. The high ropes course is seasonal; check opening information before visiting.

The park also has a health trail with exercise equipment. You can also consider the park as an activity in its own right, independently of a cycling trip.

Church and regional storytelling traditions

The brick Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is classified as being in the so-called Vistula style. Construction of the present-day church began in 1834 and was completed in 1839. Before that, Milowka had a wooden church, which remained in use until the first half of the 19th century. The sequence of the wooden building and its brick successor gives the church a clear historical timeframe.

The Posiady Gawędziarskie offers another perspective on local culture. This three-day event takes place every year in November. Stories are told in the regional dialect, and the programme also includes a competition in playing unique folk instruments. The architecture and storytelling event thus offer different ways to explore the town’s culture: one through a 19th-century building, the other through oral tradition and music.

Museum notice

The “Stara Chałupa” Museum has been closed for renovations since March 2026, until further notice. Before visiting, check whether it is still closed.
