Skrzyszów: Hotels and Accommodation
Skrzyszów combines ecclesiastical architectural and commemorative heritage with the 54-kilometre Żelazny Szlak Rowerowy circular route: the route passes through the town, which is located at kilometre 8, and is considered easy to cycle, meaning that less experienced cyclists and children can also complete it.
Culture
At 120 1 Maja Street, there is a roadside chapel. It is classified as Roman Catholic sacred architecture and is entered in the register of monuments.
The brick parish church was built between 1933 and 1936 and contains a Renaissance altar dedicated to Saint Lawrence dating from 1600. The parish church, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, played a significant role in the life of Skrzyszów. It also contains a boat-shaped pulpit carved by Konarzewski.
The history of the surrounding area also reaches far back: in 1683, part of Sobieski's relief army passed through Głębocz on its way to relieve Vienna. Every year on 10 August, a pilgrimage from Wodzisław comes to Skrzyszów for the indulgence feast in honour of Saint Lawrence.
The chapel containing the figure of Saint John of Nepomuk was moved to a new location near the church and blessed there. The figure, dating from 1854, was restored; the new chapel resembles the previous one.
