In Rzeszowski, historic sites, regional food culture and nature destinations come together. When planning your trip, you can choose different focuses: for example, the history of Tyczyn, the palace complexes in Boguchwała, or trails and landscapes around rivers and protected areas. The Przeworsk–Dynów narrow-gauge railway and a distinctive regional specialty also offer their own reasons to get to know the county.

Palaces, Churches and Local History

In Tyczyn, the market square offers a chance to discover a historic town layout, with several 18th-century townhouses and a former magistrate’s building. The urban layout was entered in the heritage register in 1970. Also in Tyczyn is the Wodzicki Palace, surrounded by a landscape park with valuable old trees and natural monuments. The palace-and-park complex was added to the heritage register in 1968. In August 2024, Rzeszowski County organized its first pilot tour there, which attracted considerable interest; it was then decided to continue these encounters with history.

The Lubomirski Palace complex in Boguchwała tells another story of a residence: the late Baroque complex dates from the mid-18th century. It includes an 18th-century geometrical landscape park laid out in the French style. Those interested in sacred architecture will find a Marian shrine with a late Baroque church in the Dominican monastery complex in Borek Stary. The church was built between 1684 and 1726.

River Landscapes and Nature Destinations

The “Mójka” nature reserve protects beech and fir forest complexes and wetlands inhabited by beavers. The Wisłok flows through the central part of Rzeszowski County; in the Sandomierz Basin, it leaves behind several river branches and oxbow lakes. These landscapes offer a different focus from the palaces and historic townscapes. The salt cascade in Sołonka is a popular excursion destination and was made accessible to visitors in 2010.

If you would like to combine a hike with a named destination, consider the yellow-marked “Jelenia” trail. It passes through ravines and along streams to the “Błędny Kamień” natural monument. There is also a body of water in Kamień-Podlesie along the “Zdołga” nature and environmental education trail. Kamień is home to the “MAŁE ARBORETUM” leisure and education park; the Harmonica Museum is also located at the cultural center.

Getting Around and Regional Specialties

The Przeworsk–Dynów narrow-gauge railway runs through Rzeszowski County. A journey along the route takes about three hours. There is also a straightforward option for arriving by road: the A4 motorway runs through the county. Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport is also located in Rzeszowski County.

A taste of the region is Futomski bulwiok, a pastry filled with potatoes, cheese and plenty of mint. In 2007, it was added to Poland’s list of regional and traditional products. The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. If you want to discover regional cuisine alongside culture and nature on your trip, this specialty offers a tangible connection to the county’s food culture.

The Regional Museum in Sołonka complements the historical impressions with archaeological, geological, historical and ethnographic collections. When choosing between a hotel, a holiday apartment and a holiday home, consider whether service, independence or the option to plan your own meals matters most to you.
