Discover Zakrzewo through its trails and buildings: a section of the blue Szlak Rezerwatów runs through the village, alongside a wayside chapel, a farmstead complex and a two-span bridge over the Wieprza. On the Pomeranian Way of St James, Zakrzewo Górne is located along one of the stages. This gives visitors concrete route connections and a variety of architectural forms to explore.

Routes and orientation

The blue Szlak Rezerwatów runs through Zakrzewo along a section about 15 kilometres long. This combines an approximate distance with a clear connection to the village, making the route section useful for planning stages. On the Sławno–Darłowo stage of the Pomeranian Way of St James, Zakrzewo Górne is listed at kilometre 21.0; Zakrzewo Górne is part of Zakrzewo. The details serve different purposes in planning: the approximate distance indicates the scale of the blue route section, while kilometre 21.0 marks a position on a specific stage of the Way of St James. As difficult terrain makes it impossible to travel through this area with wheeled vehicles, cyclists and wheelchair users should take the shortcut from Zakrzewo along the voivodeship road directly to Darłowo when following the Pomeranian Way of St James.

Architectural heritage in the village

A wayside chapel stands near house no. 39. Farmstead no. 22 comprises a house, two stable-and-barn buildings and a barn, built using half-timbered and solid construction. The chapel and the farmstead represent two different scales: a small sacred building and an agricultural complex. Half-timbering and solid construction refer to different building methods: in half-timbered buildings, a timber frame supports the infill panels, while solid construction uses solid walls. This makes it possible to consider the farmstead’s components and construction methods separately.

There is also a two-span bridge over the Wieprza in the village. “Two-span” describes its division into two bridge spans. The bridge adds a river crossing to the architectural highlights: alongside the chapel and farmstead is a structure whose form is directly connected to the river. Together, they form a compact trio of sacred architecture, farmstead layout and bridge construction.

Accommodation in Zakrzewo Górne

Dworek Jurasa is in Zakrzewo Górne, which is part of Zakrzewo. The house stands on a moraine hill 45 m above sea level. The landform and elevation complement each other: the moraine hill characterises the location, while 45 m indicates its height. The outdoor areas are for the exclusive use of Dworek Jurasa guests: a 30-are garden surrounded by mature trees, a pond and a terrace of about 140 m². Thirty ares equals 3,000 m², making it easy to appreciate the difference in size compared with the approximately 140 m² terrace.
